Traveling in Late August

We received an email today telling us that we will probably be traveling August 28th and be in Beijing August 29th. Soooooo, we get to wait more! We have to wait until after the Olympics are over which end August 24th.

We also received an email giving us more detailed information about Lily. She was 5.06 lbs when she was born and 18.5 inches long.....Tiny!

We are very excited to be the parents of our little Lily (Xi Yan Juan). We are hoping to hear very soon when we get to travel to China and get her. So far our agency, CHI has made no indications that travel will be affected by the Olympics. We are hoping to go as soon as late July to early August. We will be updating this blog (as long as I can figure out how to do everything) on a regular basis so that family and friends can follow our journey. At this point we believe we'll be traveling into Shanghai then on to Jiangsu. We're not sure about any of the travel arrangements at this point.

We did want to thank all who have posted comments on our blog, it is a blessing to hear all your words of encouragement. Also, we would like to encourage all those who are waiting for their little blessings. Please be encouraged, your child will be worth all the waiting!

We Finally Got Our Referral!

Lily is from the Wuxi Social Welfare Institute in the Peoples Republic of China. They say she is a deep sleeper (yeah!) She likes music and is an outgoing child.....Oh Boy!

WE RECEIVED OUR CALL!!!!!

Today at 10:17am we received a call from Children's Hope International telling us about Lily!!! Lily was born on October 17th, 2006 (exactly the same day as our Grandson!!!!)Can you believe that???

Her Chinese name is XI Yan Yuan (don't ask us how to pronounce it)
She weighs 18 lbs and is 28 inches tall (TINY!!!)

She was born in the Jiangsu Province in China, which is on the northern coast. We are waiting for a scanned picture of her. As soon as we receive it we'll post it.

REFERRAL IS COMING!

This is actually a re-posting of a message earlier today but I'm learning (or trying to learn) how to automatically send emails when something of significance happens in our adoption.

Possibly Referral to arrive on Monday

We just received word that China has sent a package via DHL and it should arrive on Monday! Most likely this means it contains our referral.......FINALLY!

Still Waiting to hear something

Some rumors are in the air but nothing absolute yet. We are expecting to hear something any day now!!! We both have been visiting the "Rumor Queens" website to see if anything definite is being said but just bits and pieces of information....maybe this or possibly that........waiting can be so hard sometimes......
