Today at 10:17am we received a call from Children's Hope International telling us about Lily!!! Lily was born on October 17th, 2006 (exactly the same day as our Grandson!!!!)Can you believe that???
Her Chinese name is XI Yan Yuan (don't ask us how to pronounce it)
She weighs 18 lbs and is 28 inches tall (TINY!!!)
She was born in the Jiangsu Province in China, which is on the northern coast. We are waiting for a scanned picture of her. As soon as we receive it we'll post it.

I found your blog from RQ and just wanted to pass along some info. I think your Lily may be from Wuxi? I'm guessing from her surname Xi - our son is from there and all the children share the same surname. If so there is a friendly (but somewhat quiet) yahoo group out there that you may find helpful for gathering info about the orphanage and travel, etc. Feel free to email me if you'd like - mtr4560 at zoominternet dot net.

Hi there! I have a son from Jiangsu too (Lianyungang). Try staying at the Mandarin Garden in Nanjing if possible. The Fu Miao market is right behind the hotel and its awesome to walk around there and do a little shopping to pass the time. I have pictures of it too if you'd care to see. CONGRATS!!! She is precious and you will love that age. Our daughter is from Hunan and was born Oct 29, 2006 (so only a week or so apart) and she is in a really fun stage. You will so enjoy her!!
